Ben Susskind

Ben Susskind is multi-hyphenate composer, lyricist, playwright, actor, director, and sound designer. Currently finishing his last year in the theater school at UCLA studying playwriting, The Manager marks Susskind’s first professional production as a composer/lyricist. His play Still Moving was produced through OC Centric New Play Festival, where he first met Ravenna. His musical Icarus will be performed in concert at UCLA in the winter of 2024 with Out of the Blue Theater Company.

Susskind’s debut directorial production of Boise, Idaho received outstanding accolades at California Thespian Festival. His first musical And So It Goes was produced at International Thespian Festival in 2020.

As a sound designer, Susskind has worked with Tony Award winner Leon Rothenburg and Johnathan Snipes, guiding his through his work on two main stage productions at UCLA TFT. He is currently the Executive Director of Untitled Theater Company, a student company at UCLA devoted to producing and developing new plays and musicals written and conceived by students.

Susskind is thrilled with the development of The Manager. Having worked on the show for over 4 years now, seeing the show through its many stages of revision and rewriting, he is excited to make his public debut as a musical theater composer.
